Why business

Three problems Professional solves for SMB IT

PowerArchiver Professional sits at the intersection of "real archiver" and "real encryption" — the gap most growing businesses fall into when they outgrow free tools but aren't yet ready for enterprise procurement.
Vendor exchange

Secure FTP / SFTP without IT-side scripting

Built-in FTP / FTPS / SFTP client with FIPS 140-2 validated TLS — meets the encryption-in-transit clauses your vendor MSAs and BAAs demand. Smart archive handling means staff don't need to download whole ZIPs from a remote server to peek inside. Replaces ad-hoc FileZilla deployments with a unified, manageable tool.

Backup

VSS-aware backup of the file server

PowerArchiver Backup takes consistent snapshots of locked / open files (mailboxes, accounting databases, departmental shares) via Volume Shadow Service — same engine as Windows Server Backup. Schedule daily / weekly / event-driven jobs. Route the same backup to local NAS + cloud + offsite simultaneously. Encrypted with AES-256 by default.
Backup details →
You don't need PowerArchiver Backup if you already have Veeam / Datto / Acronis — that's fine, lock the Backup module out at deployment via MSI properties so the feature doesn't show up in the user UI. Same approach works for any other module (Cloud, FTP, Encryption Suite, OpenPGP) you don't want exposed. Pay for the bundle, deploy what you need.
In Professional

What every seat gets

Everything in Business plus the full Encryption Suite (with OpenPGP), PowerArchiver Backup with VSS-aware scheduling, Cloud integrations, Office add-ins, and Send-to-Secure-FTP. Bundled in one MSI; admin-lockable per feature. (PACL command line lives in Toolbox or Enterprise.)

60+ archive formats

Read everything the rest of the world produces (RAR, ACE, ARJ, MSI, NSIS, RPM, DMG, VHD, plus 50+ more). Write the formats your vendors expect — ZIP, ZIPX, 7Z, TAR, GZ, ISO, and the proprietary .PA codec for 30–70% smaller PDFs / DOCX.

FIPS 140-2 AES-256

Encryption via Microsoft CryptoAPI Enhanced Cryptographic Provider — same FIPS 140-2 validated module Windows Server uses. Required by BAAs, vendor MSAs, and increasingly state-level data-privacy laws. PAE2 containers add filename + size + timestamp encryption on top.

Cloud + 8 services

Native integration with Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, Amazon S3, Azure, Yandex Disk, HiDrive. Drag a folder, it uploads. No per-service desktop client to install on every workstation — one product handles them all.

Outlook + Word + Excel add-ins

Compress + encrypt attachments without leaving the apps your team already uses. Configurable rules per administrator policy — force encryption on specific message templates, recipient domains, or attachment types.

Secure FTP / SFTP / FTPS

FIPS-validated TLS, smart archive handling, bandwidth limiting, queue, resume, encrypted credentials store. Works with the major hosted SFTP services and self-hosted servers your vendors run.

Deploy via existing IT

MSI · GPO · five-minute fleet rollout

Designed to deploy with whatever your IT already has. SMB shops with a half-time IT manager have rolled this out across 50+ seats in an afternoon.
  • Windows Installer (MSI) — push via SCCM, Intune, GPO, PDQ Deploy, or any standard MSI tool. 64-bit and 32-bit packages.
  • Single-key registration — one license key for the whole company. Deploy via GPO or registry merge before or after install. Survives image refreshes and roaming-profile rebuilds.
  • Force encryption defaults — require AES-256, lock the format choice so users can't accidentally select weaker ZipCrypto. Hide the cloud connectors firm-wide if you don't sanction third-party cloud uploads.
  • Per-feature lockdown — disable Backup if you have Veeam, disable FTP if you don't authorize ad-hoc transfers, hide Encryption Suite if you have a different PKI workflow. Deploy only the surface area your security policy approves.
  • Silent install — invoke with /qn for fully unattended deploy. No first-run wizard, no nag screens, no end-user choices to manage.
  • No phone-home telemetry — license-activation check is the only outbound connection in default config. Auditable for SMBs that do their own light-touch security review.
  • Business Volume Pricing

    Per-seat licenses scale with quantity

Volume discounts apply to Business, Professional, Professional Toolbox, and Enterprise per-seat licenses. The more you buy, the lower the per-license price. At ~500–1,000 seats consider Enterprise ($59.95 with volume rates) or Enterprise Unlimited for org-wide flat-fee deployment with FIPS / HIPAA / DFARS compliance built in.

When to switch to Enterprise: if you need FIPS 140-2, HIPAA / DFARS validation, audit logging, or centralized IT-control features, jump to Enterprise at $59.95 per-seat (volume rates available) — those compliance + IT features aren't in Business / Professional / Professional Toolbox. For org-wide deploys at high seat counts, Enterprise Unlimited (from $4,995) is typically more cost-effective than per-seat math above ~500 seats. Talk to sales for an Enterprise volume or Unlimited quote.

    When to switch to Enterprise

    The 500–1,000-seat break-even

Volume Pro keeps getting cheaper per seat as you scale, but at roughly 500–1,000 seats the math flips: Enterprise Unlimited (from $4,995, custom-scaled to org size) becomes the better deal AND saves your procurement team license-counting overhead.

Below ~500 seats, volume Pro is straightforwardly cheaper. Between 500 and 1,000, the two cross — talk to sales and we'll model both side-by-side. Above 1,000 seats, Enterprise also gives you flat-fee predictability and saves the license-counting overhead — most growing companies switch at that threshold.
