We are happy to announce that PowerArchiver 2020 for macOS is coming soon.
Over the past 10+ years, we have been asked by our loyal users which switched platforms, to creates a version of PowerArchiver for macOS, and it’s finally here!

PowerArchiver 2020 for macOS will become a fully fledged member of the PowerArchiver family. From the start, PowerArchiver for macOS will have many of the usual and important PowerArchiver features such as support for wide variety of formats and the multi-extract tool.

Here is a list of currently implemented features:

• Full support for creating ZIP,7ZIP,TAR,TAR.GZ,TAR.BZ,TAR.XZ
• Full support for extracting ZIP,7ZIP,TAR,TAR.GZ,TAR.BZ,TAR.XZ,RAR,CAB,LHA,ZOO,ARJ.
• Support for secure encryption – ZIP AES 256bit.
• Multiple tab support in main interface.
• Multi-extract tool for extracting multiple archives via single action.
• Opening archives via Finder
• Drag and Drop support from Finder to PA application icon.
• Several icon styles built in for customization.
• Multilingual support with over 30 translations.

We plan to keep adding new features to the macOS release in future updates. Next steps include implementation of the rest of our tools – such as Batch ZIP, Archive converter, Multi-Volume create/merge and more. We have been hard at work on porting our .PA format as well.

We are pleased to present the release of the latest version of PowerArchiver 2019 – 19.00.58.

Here is a list of improvements for version 19.00.58

• Translation Improvements – improved translation of PowerArchives dialogs that were not properly translating to International languages.
• SmartAI configuration improvements – Improvement in the checkbox and dropdown list behavior of the SmartAI options in the Configuration menu.
• Explorer view mode keyboard functions improvements – Improved the behavior of the backspace button when using all windows of the File Explorer interface and made sure that the CTRL + F function now works in the Windows 10 and Ribbon interface.
• Shell extensions icon color– Shell extensions icons are back to the original and default PowerArchiver yellow color.
• Adding files to .PA format archives– Fixed an issue with files in archive appearing twice when re-added to .PA format archives. Adding files to .PA fomat archives has been improved and works flawlessly.
• UAC in File Explorer improvements– Improved UAC behavior when using the File Explorer interface.
• Various improvements– over 10 various improvements/issues completed since release .57. For more specific fixes go to the forums.

After months of hard work, we are proud to release the 2019 version of PowerArchiver.
The 2019 version has been in thorough testing and updating for a while now and we finally have done our best to finalize it for the official final release. The 2019 version of PowerArchiver features improvements over the previous 2018 version and introduces advanced new technology rarely seen in compression software.

PowerArchiver’s noticeable advancement started with the 2017 version which introduced the best compression format on the market today – Advanced Codec Pack (.pa). In the 2018 version, PowerArchiver went back to basics and was thoroughly optimized to provide the fastest experience ever. The 2019 improves the previously existing features and options, while also focusing on adding new advanced features which make PowerArchiver 2019 the smartest release ever!

Modern Win10 – Simplified Ribbon UI

For a long time, PowerArchiver has featured an advanced interface with great design which was welcomed by most PowerArchiver users and therefore, for the 2019 version, we are bringing our new and improved version of the Simplified Ribbon based on Microsoft Office 2019. Simplified Ribbon UI bridges the gap between the Classic toolbar interface that has been around for 25 years, and Ribbon UI that has been in PowerArchiver for last 10 years. The new interface features less buttons which allow users to concentrate on important features. The new Ribbon UI still features tabs reducing need for classic menus and shows a more organized display of buttons. It looks awesome while convenient to use. We have also added an application navigation bar in Windows 10 style to the left side of PowerArchiver, so that all of our tools and features are easily accessible – and in classic PowerArchiver tradition, if it’s not an interface that you would like to use – you can turn it off! You will also notice a redesigned File menu to the left of the home tab in the W10 interface. It has been redesigned to look great, fit in with the Ribbon interface and offer access to various file management functions that PowerArchiver has to offer. Everything is beautifully skinned too and several skins of different looks are available from the start.

SmartAI – Intelligent decision making

As everything around us is becoming more intelligent, why not PowerArchiver? PowerArchiver 2019 now features an assistant called SmartAI. SmartAI will optimize your compression, save power, change to dark mode when necessary, enable FIPS mode system wide and enable you to work conveniently with touch screens:

Added faster ZIP modes and mp3 support in zipx

Last year we have added the strongest yet fastest ZIP engine on the market. This year we are adding a new engine that is optimized for speed specifically and is used for Fast and Super Fast compression strength. It also uses multiple cores/threads and works on byte level. It can provide 2x faster compression than before! Added packmp3 support for ZIP engine, to make it fully compatible with WinZip.

PowerArchiver Mini is back

PowerArchiver Mini has returned for 2019! PowerArchiver Mini is our Windows Explorer Preview feature where you can work directly from Windows Explorer Preview window (make sure you turn it on). Not only does it show the file list of a selected archive, you can also browse folders, open individual files and extract them with one of the available options. It is super easy to use and very intuitive. We are also adding Explorer tooltips that will show information about the archive and a summary of the files inside as a tooltip when you hover over an archive in Windows Explorer.

Private Mode option

New Private Mode feature that clears the PowerArchiver history and cleans the temp folder with US DoD 5220.22-M approved methods.

Full Gesture support

PowerArchiver has great support for Gestures. You can swipe around the interface intuitively with many PowerArchiver actions available. In true PowerArchiver spirit, it is completely customizable and you can set it up as you want and assign gestures as you please.

Many other improvements

We have also added full support for screen readers in Classic toolbar. Filelist is all new and fully supports skinning, large dpi, gesturing and everything you can imagine. If you use 4k screens that are 13″ large, you will love the new PowerArchiver 2019! Open and New archive dialogues are now sporting the Windows 10 look, fully skinned too. Everything simply looks great.
