PACL 5.0 Beta 1 now available for testing

A beta release of PowerArchiver Command Line 5.0 is now available for download, bringing support for 7-Zip archives and Zip archives larger than 4GB. Changes include:

PACOMP.EXE: Support for creating 7-ZIP archives
PACOMP.EXE: Support for extended Zip format (archives larger than 4 GB, 65555 files)
PACOMP.EXE: Various Bug Fixes
PACOMP.EXE: New switch: - sep : archive each file into separate archive
PAEXT.EXE: Support for extracting 7-ZIP archives
PAEXT.EXE: Support for extended Zip format (archives larger than 4 GB, 65555 files)
PAEXT.EXE: Support for BZIP2 compression method in Zip archives
PAEXT.EXE: Various Bug Fixes
PAEXTU.EXE, PACOMPU.EXE, PAENCODEU.EXE: Support for Unicode files

PACL 5.0 Beta 1 can be found in the download area. Please remember this is a beta version, so it may not be suitable for production environments and could contain bugs.

PowerArchiver 2007 version 10.22 Released

We have released a new version of PowerArchiver 2007, which files a number of minor bugs and introduces some small user interface changes. Here's what is new:

Improved storing of empty folders in TAR, LHA, BH formats.
Fixed Bug #79: Classic mode is now Screen Reader compatible.
Fixed Bug #107: Open with .exe inside archive issue.
Fixed Bug #135: .ppf and .psf associations are not working.
Fixed Bug #146: convert does not save empty tar folders.
Fixed Bug #94: Focus window issues.
Fixed Bug #117: Displaying files with certain characters (TAR).
Fixed Bug #151: Empty folders not shown in file list for certain formats.
Fixed Bug #143: Compress shell Profiles not showing proper changes.

PowerArchiver Outlook Plug-In 2.02 Available!

A minor update to PowerArchiver Outlook Plug-In has been released, along with a new version for German language users. The following bugs have been squashed:

Bug #52: Can not enter size limit via keyboard
Bug #120: Issue with first foreign character in Outlook email
Setup procedure improved

PowerArchiver 2007 version 10.21 Final Released!

The final version of PowerArchiver 2007 10.21 has been released. This update includes a number of important fixes, including improved speed and Vista compatibility. The full list of changes is as follows:

Security Fix for BlackHole Archives

We have issued a minor update for PowerArchiver 10.2 that resolves a longstanding security vulnerability when working with BlackHole archives. The problem was a minor buffer overflow, but it has been corrected. You can download PowerArchiver 10.20.21 from the download area.

PowerArchiver 2007 10.2 Final Released

Final release of PowerArchiver 2007 version 10.2 has been announced. This release incorporates numerous changes, most important ones being completely new Modern user interface that performs more like Office 2007 interface and extended TAR support, which now supports GNU Tar specifications. It also features the Tiny toolbar option, as well as the ability to hide the toolbar completely for those who want to maximize their screen space. Number of issues have been fixed as well and performance was increased in certain situations.

PowerArchiver 10.2 Final has been simultaneously released in 15 different languages, you can find them in the download area.

PowerArchiver Outlook Plug-in 2.0 Final Released

After 4 months of beta testing, PAOP 2.0 Final has been released. This major update has been completely rewritten for Windows Vista and Office 2007.

PAOP is designed to offer the functionality of PowerArchiver from within your Microsoft Outlook e-mail application. It will seamlessly integrate with Outlook and compress your attachments based on options you select. This plug-in is an add-on to PowerArchiver and will not function if PowerArchiver is not installed.

PowerArchiver 10.2 Beta 3 Released

The third beta release of PowerArchiver 2007 version 10.2 has been posted for testing. Like the previous beta, this release incorporates the completely new Modern user interface, which has been reworked to look better and perform more like Microsoft Office 2007. It features the Tiny toolbar option, as well as the ability to hide the toolbar completely. Beta 3 supports Vista Aero transparency in the Modern toolbar too!

Beta 2 of PowerArchiver 10.2 Available!

As we near the final release, we have released Beta 2 of PowerArchiver 2007 version 10.2. As noted previously, this update introduces a brand new toolbar that looks better and performs just like the Office 2007 "Ribbon" interface. Also available is a new "Tiny Toolbar" option that uses smaller icons and hides the modern interface.

PowerArchiver 10.2 Beta 1 Released!

For those early adopters who want to help us test new features and changes, we have released Beta 1 of PowerArchiver 2007 version 10.2. This update brings a number of major improvements, including a completely new Modern User Interface with customizable Quick Access Toolbar.

A new First Configuration screen will help you choose which interface you like -- the new Ribbon-like design or the older Classic interface PowerArchiver has used in the past. Please note that this is a beta release, and as such may not be suitable for production environments.

Spanish, Italian, Simplified Chinese Languages Posted!

We have released PowerArchiver 2007 10.11 in three new languages: Spanish, Italian and Simplified Chinese. Many thanks to our translators for their hard work in preparing these updates!

PowerArchiver 2007 10.11 Available in 14 languages!

We have released a minor update to PowerArchiver 2007 and the release comes simultaneously in 14 langages, including Czech, Russian, Brazilian-Portuguese and Traditional Chinese for the first time. PowerArchiver 2007 10.11 includes bug fixes and minor improvements. Translations have been improved as well!

The final release of PowerArchiver 2007 10.1 is now available for download in six languages, with more on the way. This update includes a number of major changes under the hood, as well as a new interface selection option.
