Patchbeam
Could Patchbeam be tweaked to give an error when there is no connectivity (internet or network) rather than just reporting that there are no updates available (giving the impression that there IS a working connection?
Thanks DrT

you can notice it if you check last version column, if it is empty, then it means it didnt get info from the internet

The column was not empty, it reported 'no update'. It looked as if you had pulled the mini .01 > .02 update and I was about to post here asking about it.
I have just (re)-checked this on my netbook after disconnecting it from my Wi-Fi and I am confirm that the 'Release date' column is not empty. DrT

Under "Available", it should be empty (it will otherwise show latest version thats on the server).
I am not saying this is proper error message, but it will give you heads up in the future :-)

A 'proper' error message would be handy, especially as I have to have quite complicated wi-fi schedules here to keep my children off the 'net at bed times - sometimes I forget the wi-fi is off
.Any idea on when the long-standing mini-bug shown in the attached will be fixed? The MRU dropdown box only gets filled in when the cursor goes over it. Regards DrT

i discussed it with Ivan maybe 3-4 days ago when planning 2012 roadmap :-). It is annoying, but requires us to change half of PowerArchiver to fix it.So lets see.

It would be nice to have a fix, but not if it is too much trouble. I'll stay schtum on the subject now. Thanks for the reconsideration. Just out of pure interest, and only if somebody has the time, could somebody explain to a non programmer (me) why a seemingly simple issue has its roots so deeply buried in the program? Just asking out of pure fascination of the magic that is programming.
TIA DrT
