Support for large archives

There was a time when 4 GB was considered to be more than enough. Since I'm using PACL to back up different folders on my laptop, it is now becoming a limitation that needs to be adressed. I'll hope the next version of PACL will be similar to WinZip Command Line Support Add-On.

I'm using it at work and it has full support for making archives larger than 4 GB and I think it's faster than PACL.

We hope we will add support for unlimited sized ZIP archives sometimes closer to the next year, or a bit latter - together with second major update to the PACL.

thanks,

I second this request. For me, it's the only major thing that's missing from PACL. Since the code has already been written for PA, I cannot imagine it would be too hard to implement for PACL.

Therefore, I would hope to see this before PACL 4 final is released.

Please.......

PACL 4.00 development has been finished for almost a month now, blame the marketing guys ;-). As to PACL and unlimited zip support, hopefully in the future.

thanks,

Comming up on a year long month. And the online help and manual still says you are limited to 2GB.

there were no major updates to PACL... Once we do 5.0, it will have unlimited zip support...
