Microsoft Office Intergration

Would it be possible to have a PA Button intergrated within Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc, that allows the user to instantly compress, encrypt, email,ftp the document in question.

You have managed to create an addon for Outlook surely this is possible?

it is certainly possible, although we dont have it planned for anytime soon. It is good idea though and we have been thinking about it for a while now - it is just that nobody expressed any interest for it until now.

I think its one of those nice to have's that people would use but never really think about it. a bit like the cut and paste function on your mouse. )

I know for a fact that I would certainly use it esspecially at work as i constantly write large data tables and need to compress them before sending via email, and having to save close and then compress seems a long way of doing it.

Well, in this specific case, if your email is OutLook - use the option "File - Send To - Mail Recipient" and it will be compressed by the OutLook Plug-in.

Good point, but I work for a company that uses Lotus notes.. so Outlook Plug-in is useless. However, an office plug-in would work wonders.

Also it would be great for instant Encrption eg: your working on document and need to shut down quickly you click on "PA Save & Encrypt" button and jobs done.

A modification to PA's password manager might need to be made to create a "secure default password".

"There another idea!" Default Password that a user can set during installation or change in settings. It would also save time setting a PassWord for each file.

What do you think??

Not sure of the benefit of storing and using the same password for all files - seems to defeat the purpose of encryption.

It would be allot like PGP, Where you set yourself a password for all default encryptions. but you have the option when enrypting to change it.

A majority of company's work on the same princible, the password for your encrypted files has to be a cetain length and made up of so many charactors. This acts as your Master code which you can change at anytime.

it helps speed securing of documents and minimizing typo mistakes.

The default password would be encrpyted securely within the application logs itself so if the File was to leave the computer you would need to enter a password.

What im trying to say is it isnt a modification to the encryption as such but the way the application can manage passwords.

PA Works perfectly on encrypting docs its more of an ad-on im suggesting.

Yes, I understood that.
I was just expressing concern about a User Interface which could be taken to be suggesting (or at least implying) that the same password should be used for every encryption.

So I think I wil re fraise that suggestion to;

Would it be possible to make some amendments to the Password Manager Tool to allow users to create a system password which on encrypting a document it gives the user an option to either

A: Use System Password or B:Other Password in which they type in and would have to type in everytime they open it on that system because it is not the set system password.

Or do you think that would be to much??

I can understand the idea when creating new archives but, when working with existing archives, the password manager currently "remembers" passwords - are you saying this should be disabled/removed?


By the way, I am just a user like you. I am not involved in development of PowerArchiver (except as an Alpha/Beta tester )

Kind of but no, because a user can already disable pa password manager and delete the saved passwords.

Im saying that it would be handy to have an option in password manager to set a Master password for all archives, so when encrpting you can encrpyt with new password or with master password.

This would then decrease the time it takes to password PA Files using the encrytion option.

eg. PA Master Password "123" everytime i encrypt a file using Quick Encrypt it will use the password "123" obviosly no one else would know that password bar me.

In other words its an amendment to the PA Password manager to enable a master password and an option when encrypting to use Quick Encrypt that uses the password you set or normal encrypt that askes you for a new password.
