I was searching my system for a file and Mcafee Anti-virus Enterprise 8.0 detected an buffer overflow in explorer.exe from C:\Program Files\PowerArchiver\PASHLEXT.DLL
After that error showed up explorer.exe crashes.

I don't know where you got IE out of explore.exe...
This problem still exists but is very rare.

shoe posted an image of buffer overflow of Internet Explorer...which got this thread back from dead.

In any case, Buffer Overflows do happen all the time in MS Windows (you can monitor system calls to see how often), problem is that stack based BO's can be misused, but not heap based. If you find the reason why are you getting it, please let us know.

thanks!
