Creating SelfExtracting archive from command-line

It would be interesting in a future version of PACL to have the possibility to create selfextracting archive from the command line for the most current archive type (rar, 7z, zip ...)

The problem is because it would make PACL distribution much bigger - and over 1.44 MB which is our limit now. You can now use POWERARC.EXE and from command line make a SFX archive:

powerarc -tosfx file.zip

Why do you want to limit to 1.44 mb : floppy disks are less used nowadays and we preferably use usb keys which are bigger and we can use them on almost all computers now which is not the case of floppy disks.
And it would be interesting to extend this possibility to other archive type such as 7z for example !!!

Well I think creation of sfx requires creation of the archive type, so:-

7z (maybe)
rar (probably never)

Not sure if "unrar licensing" allows conversion of RAR to SFX?

I'm still waiting for ZIP v4.5 format/large Zip (and of course this SFX).
