Creating a backup. Missing Folder, Documents and Settings\****\Application Data
Using latest version of PA version 10.10.10 but I don't know in what version this difference appeared.
I have had a backup script running at least a couple of years and this only came to light after a fresh install of Windows XP. In the original script I have folders from C:\Documents and Settings\My user name\Application Data (a hidden folder as I'm sure you know) included, as some software I use insists on creating folders there of which I like to keep a backup. After my fresh install of XP and programs I found that another one of them now puts a folder in this directory (my email program) and so I need that to be included in my backup as that is where all my email is. But for some reason now when I go to add a folder to my backup through Power Archiver the C:\Documents and Settings\My user name\Application Data folder is not shown so I cannot browse it to find the folder I need to add it to my backup. ![]() If I just want to add a file it appears then (using a different explore window of course) but that's not much use to me. You can try it yourself by creating a new backup/add folder and just try and find that folder to add to it. Please tell me how to get back this function. Luxor |

so hidden folder is not shown in backup file/folders list, so you can not select it?

Yes it looks like you have 'Show hidden files and folders' enabled in Folder Options already so it does look like a problem with PA although I haven't confirmed it here.
As a temporary workaround while that's being sorted out, try copying the folder path from Windows Explorer and pasting it in the field at the top of your 'Add folder' window and clicking the little arrow button to the right. I think it should take you to that location, if the location does indeed exist. |

Today I have reinstalled XP Pro on my other PC (yes too much time on my hands).
Once again PA 10.10 is not showing hidden folders. Luxor |

Thanks!
Hidden folders should now be shown in all folder-tree-windows - from next update.
