Version 13.03.01 does not start

After updating to version 13.03.01 Powerarchiver does not start on my system at all. I already uninstalled it, removed all Powerarchiver registry settings, but same thing happens. I checked Task Manager and the process is not there. I'm using Windows 7 x64.

Version 13.01.03 works just fine.

spwolf 01-22-2013 06:01 PM

maybe antivirus?

spwolf 01-22-2013 06:03 PM

did you try full install? There is nothing major changed... we have win7 x64 and it works fine there.

joakim_46 01-22-2013 06:10 PM

Yes, I uninstalled it. Deleted all registry entries. Installed again and does not start. I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013.

joakim_46 01-22-2013 06:17 PM

All right, installed it again, with anti-virus disabled, and still no go. Installed version 13.01.03 and it works perfectly. So, there's really something wrong with this build.

spwolf 01-22-2013 06:18 PM

no error message, nothing, just nothing?

Yes, no error message, nothing. And the process is not running in background.

spwolf 01-22-2013 06:19 PM

Antivirus cant be disabled except with uninstall. If you just disable it via switch, it still works. I tested it on Virus Total few days ago and now again and it has no false positives so it shouldnt be that. I will still try to download Kaspersky myself and try it but....

joakim_46 01-22-2013 06:21 PM

Kaspersky detected no threat, and nothing was deleted/quarantined.

spwolf 01-22-2013 06:34 PM

did you try going into program files and launching it by itself? (powerarc.exe)?
If not, try it... and try backup and burner too... what happens?

joakim_46 01-22-2013 06:36 PM

I tried PABackup.exe, PABurntools.exe and Powerarc.exe manually and none of them works, just the same nothing happens.

joakim_46 01-22-2013 06:42 PM

I've the error from system event viewer

PowerArchiver installer CRC32 is 1CC1A181 is this correct?

spwolf 01-22-2013 07:00 PM

do you see ConeXware, Inc as signature when you doubleclick on installer? If so, that it is properly downloaded, otherwise signature would be broken.

You tried both full install and PB update I guess?

I will check with team tomorrow on what has changed on all 3 executables. What about pastarter, that works?

joakim_46 01-22-2013 07:05 PM

Installer's digital signature is authentic and it is not broken, so installer is ok.

First I updated it using PatchBeam, and noticing that it did not work, rebooted computer. Then tried again, no luck. Uninstalled, deleted registry entries and installed again, and again, nothing.

PAStarter.exe works, I get icon on system tray, but If I select to launch PowerArchiver, nothing happens.

Meanwhile, I will have to use version 13.01.03 until you figure the problem.

joakim_46 01-22-2013 07:09 PM

Already replied on the chat box, but it's located on the top of the screen.

Version 13.03.02 fixed the problem.

spwolf 01-23-2013 10:42 AM

Cool... it was some feature we added to 13.02 in September... thanks for the report and all the help.
