Got PA 2011, how to upgrade to PA 2012?

Hi there,

I just bought PowerAchiever Toolbox 2011, which said I have lifetime upgrades. When I try to input this key into PowerAchiever Toolbox 2012 RC2, it doesn't register.

When I bought it said Lifetime Free upgrades. Now my I log into my account it ask for more money for PowerAchiever Toolbox 2012 RC2.

It looks like it is a scam and in this case I would like my money to be refunded.

Best regards,

two options

1) Perhaps there is a glitch.

OR

(2) Since Toolbox comes with Bit Defender —which is not a free lifetime update — perhaps the charge is for BD. I see no reason to think PA is charging for any update, and so now reason to think they are running a scam.

Hi Socrates,

Many thank for your reply. I hope it is a glitch. I have opened a ticket but haven't heard from the support yet.

I careless about Bit Defender. Still have two years of Avast left, so Bit Defender is useless for me.

The reason I bought the Toolbox, as it had all the features, which the lower flavors didn't.

Best regards,

Best regards,

you purchased PowerArchiver 2011 Toolbox and entered its code into PowerArchiver 2012 Toolbox?

No, it will not work.

You need to login to your account and get free codes for PowerArchiver 2012, as they will work on 2012.

Your Account:

p.s. starting a thread with "Is this a scam", really?

I did log into my account and the following is what freeked me out:

Available Upgrades:
PowerArchiver 2012 Toolbox English - 1 license w/ BitDefender IS 2012 Version 13.00 released Jun 1, 2012
You are entitled to a 65% discount

What the above is for? I don't understand. As I already own a license of BitDefender IS 2012. Is the above for PowerArchiver 2012 Toolbox English?

Also, now I see the following:

Free Upgrades:
PA Command Line 7 Single User License Version 7.00 released May 16, 2012
PowerArchiver 2012 Toolbox Legacy Version 13.00 released Jun 1, 2012

The above is confusing to me. I am a new customer and I don't want to start on the wrong foot.

Hi,

Just get free update, paying one is for AV, nothing too complicated... Once you register it, you get all features enabled and you are set.

Rinse and repeat for every major version and you are set for next 14 years at least :-)
(this year is our 14 yr anniversary...)

HAPPY 14 ANNIVERSARY!

14 years is very long time for free updates. :D

And, many thanks for welcoming me to the PowerArchiver family.

To be correct, 14 years since development started and 11.3 years of free updates so far for first that bought it in April 2001 :-)
