thought everyone would like to know that using standard method for compression and then sfx a 7zip file would make it larger than a normal zip sfx file.

That would be dependent on the data compressed and the SFX stub used to make the SFX. ;)

It's very dependent on the data then. Try the same with a nightly Firefox distribution and you'll see a huge advantage for 7-Zip.
