7Zip broken in 9.61.01
 

Hi I just upgraded to 9.61.01 and I cannot open 7zip archives.

I attached a screenshot of the error message.

problem is not opening but compressing to 7zip. Sigh.
I think Ivan will be pretty tired after this is all done.

Confirmed. I can open existing 7z but cant create new ones. Same error.

re-download latest version and try it out. Let us know how it works.

How come still 9.61.01. May be in french it still the 9.61.01 version. I'm using English and its out with the 9.61.02 version.

right now english, french and german are updated to .03. All other translations will be updated tomorrow. Just check via update to find out exactly when.

dont do it until update shows there is new version. it seems web guys didnt update it yet...

I'm still getting this error whenever I try to open a 7zip archive with version 9.61.03.

i'm also unable to create 7zip files with 9.61.01 german.
and i'm also unable to update to .03 german. the auto-update option shows me .03, but it downloads .01 instead.

Same problem over here. I'm not able to update to 9.61.03 (german).

you guys can do it now. Our European download server was not getting the updated version.

I have the latest version and I am still getting the error described in the first post. I created a 7z archieve then tried to open it, and got the error. I created a zip archive from the same folder and there was no error.

you created with .03? Or with .01? Problem with .01 was creation of 7zip archive, not reading. Obviously it couldnt read an bad 7zip archive it created.

I created the 7z archive with .03, bit I also had that issue with .01.

Just to make sure, uninstall all versions of PA you have installed.
Then restart your computer and install .03 (you can verify it is .03 in About menu). Then create brand new 7zip archive and see if it happens.

We tested quite few scenarios with .03 and it seems to be working fine.

Well that's exactly what I did this morning when I upgraded to .03. I downloaded .03, then uninstalled .01, restarted (because of the context menu) then installed .03...same problem. Maybe there is a difference between the auto-updated version and the site version?

did you try to create another 7zip? Try creating it now...

i just updated to 03 german. everything works fine now, even without restarting my system. thanks for the support!
