PowerArchiver is Windows 8 Certified

Dear users,

Those of you that follow our website and our news section know that PowerArchiver works great on Windows 8 and has been for quite a while now, and now we also have gotten it officially certified by Microsoft and listed in the Windows App store for Windows 8 (desktop).

Windows 8 is an upgrade to Windows 7 and PowerArchiver will work great on all of those systems, including Windows XP and all of the server editions as well. We don’t plan to drop support for Windows XP or any other Windows operating systems anytime soon, despite end of life notice from Microsoft. So you can rest assured that ConeXware, Inc. will fully support Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012 and all of the future versions of Windows desktop in all of our PowerArchiver products.

PowerArchiver 2012 13.03 released!

Dear users,

We have new update to PowerArchiver 2012, version 13.03.02. This update mainly deals with mandatory changes due to Windows 8 certification as well as some minor fixes and some new features.

Here is the list of changes:

Windows 8 support – Various smaller changes for official Windows 8 Certification.
Backup: date options – Enabled date options for file naming as default so users wont by accident overwrite their old backups.
Backup: tar.gz support – Improved TAR.GZ support in backup.
Virtual Drive: IMG support – Added support for IMG files in Virtual Drive.
Drag & Drop: Profiles – Added support for Compression Profiles in Drag and Drop window.
Preview Window Improvements – Disabled preview window for file selection when renaming files.
ZIP format – Added support for extracting folders with invalid name in Windows File System (/.example/).
Archive Converter with Encrypt Filenames – Added support for Encrypting Filenames in Archive converter (added in 13.03.02).

PowerArchiver Outlook Plugin and Zip To Email updated to support Office/Outlook 2013

Dear users,

We have updated PowerArchiver Outlook Plugin (English and German) as well as Zip To Email in order to include support for latest Microsoft Office 2013 (Microsoft Outlook 2013).

Both of them will now work great with Microsoft Office 2013, 32bit and 64bit, as well as older versions of office, all the way down to Microsoft Office 2000 (Microsoft Outlook 2000).

We hope all of your are having great holidays and this is small gift from us to make your holidays even a little bit nicer. Next up is update to PowerArchiver 2012, so please stay tuned and keep checking our blogs, facebook and/or twitter for more updates.

PowerArchiver 2012 13.02.02 Released!

Dear users,

With coming Windows 8 official release, here is the new release of PowerArchiver 2012. Last week it came to our attention that Windows 8 does not play well with Kol, language we used to create PA Starter – our Queue worker app, so not to leave you stranded, we went on and created new PA Starter from grounds up in Delphi XE2 instead of Kol.

We used Kol for its memory advantages when we created PA Starter long time ago, so it was time to bring it back to modern world. New PA Starter looks good and this will lead to some improvements later on, such as ability to schedule Patchbeam updates in the background (if selected by you). So please check out this release and confirm that it all works beautifully on your side!

As changes are strictly for Windows 8 users, this version will not go up via Patchbeam until next week’s release!

Changes from 13.01.04 to 13.02.02:

Completely new PA Starter – PA Starter built from grounds up for better Windows 8 performance.

Windows 8 file associations – Windows 8 file associations used for Default Programs option in Windows 8.

PowerArchiver 2012 13.01.04 Released!

After a month of your feedback from official release of PowerArchiver 2012 13.00, here is new update of your favourite compression utility – PowerArchiver. In this version we have concentrated on Windows 8 support as well as some other things that you reported.

Changes from 13.01.03 to 13.01.04:

Improved default interface options – Improved default interface options.

PASTARTER Change – PASTARTER (Queue) reverted back to previous version.

Whats New:

Improved RAR engine – Increased speed of RAR engine by 15% on average.

Better look for Windows Classic theme – We improved the look of some windows if Windows classic theme is running. They look slightly different now depending on OS you have installed.

Improved Test Archives Tool – Better detection of broken archives.

Added option to not install Patchbeam for Enterprise users – Added option to not install Patchbeam for Enterprise users.

Improved Simple mode – Simple mode now shows FTP/Burner tabs.

After your feedback, here is the new version of Zip to Email, your best option for zipping and encrypting your attachments .

What is Zip To Email? As the name suggests, Zip To Email would like to be the best application to handle your email attachments. It is extremely powerful and probably by far the most powerful application of its kind, but at the same time, it can be configured to be completely automated and out of users way. So administrators can adjust it to their needs with the use of GPO’s and end users pretty much dont even know that it is there. PowerArchiver Outlook Plugin 2.20.06 release

Based on your feedback, here is latest release of PowerArchiver Outlook Plug-In (PAOP) 2.20.06.

Here is the list of changes:

PAOP 2.20.06 Changes:

Code sync with ZTE – Base plugin engine code synced with ZipToEmail (ZTE).
Various smaller fixes – Fixed few issues that have been reported.
German translation – New German version of PAOP 2.20.06.

If you install PAOP while your Outlook is open, please restart it so new plugin can be loaded. You can download latest PAOP from our download site.

We are pleased to announce the final version of PowerArchiver 2012 13.00.

We firmly believe this is the best version of PowerArchiver in our 14+ year history, thank you for being with us for all these years.

Here is the list of changes:

PowerArchiver 2012 Changes:

File list color coding – Background color of file list columns changed based on file size, compression ratio, file type. Completely configurable. Button on status bar for easy on/off.

Enhancements of Modern/Ribbon interface – Active tabs based on file currently clicked on (Preview tab currently).

Easy/Advanced Ribbon interface options – new Easy option for interface that removes less used tabs to make it easier for new users to start using PowerArchiver. Button on status bar for easy on/off.

RAR Compression support – PowerArchiver will use WinRar to compress to RAR within PowerArchiver interface.

RAR Extraction improved – 5% speed improvement on RAR extraction, up to 15% faster than WR 4.x, 30%+ over WR 3.9x.

New Explorer mode for reading archives – New mode that shows paths as folders but does not display contents of hard drive, set as default option.

Redesigned Shell Interface – easier to use, easier to view.

Encrypted Icon – Added encrypted icon to the file list, for easier recognition of encrypted files inside archive.

Improved look of various windows – such as progress bar, etc, matching Win8 look more.

Wiki Help by default – converted help to Wiki online system, enabling better search, youtube tutorials (over 20+ available), better translations for the future and user interactions. Offline help pack will be available.

Single version – Multilingual, improvements – From now on, PowerArchiver will be distributed only as Multilingual software, with over 20+ translations. Due to compression improvements and online help, multilingual version has been reduced in size by almost 50%.

Password Policies – Allows you to setup minimum password policy/rule, to force your users to enter passwords with proper length and mix of characters, so they will be harder to crack. Password Profiles – You can setup password profiles and then you can select them from the dropdown during password entry, thus enabling higher productivity. It works both in Encryption and Decryption, for all modes supported. Click here for Youtube Tutorial.
