Demos of new Patchbeam update system

November 1st, 2010 | Category: blogs

Dear users, We have setup few demos of our new Patchbeam update system to show you how cool our new update system is. While you are watching this, lets not forget that old updates took 30-60 seconds and 8 clicks of mouse. Patchbeam is down to less than 2 seconds total! Videos show full update and silent update from internal alpha 11.70.05 to official beta 11.70.08, and it happens so fast that you might not even notice it :). Full update via manual activation: Silent update with single click:

We hope you like this new experience! For more tutorials and videos, visit our youtube chanel at: http://www.youtube.com/user/Conexware

Is there any way to tell Patchbeam not to install beta releases? I was a bit shocked when beta software was automatically installed on our production terminal server! Thanks

    Hi,

it is not automatic – someone has to click yes few times before update and it is then show what kind of release it is… but it is much better to not use patchbeam/updates in business enviroment. Disable it and update once in a while if needed. If you check documentation, there is a way to disable updates via registry even if someone presses an update (you can still do it by installing via Windows Install/MSI).

I hope I helped…. Advanced Installation instructions are found here:

Its noonline key found in wiki above. Thanks!
